Kilbury - a better alternative to Nanital

Planning a vacation in Nanital?, Just check out the better alternative, Kilbury. Situated just a few hundred meters above and at a road distance of mere 10kms from Nanital, it boasts of a cleaner environment, better scenic view and above all the option of living at the center of a forest.

Kilbury is a protected forest in the state of Himachal Pradesh, and the dreamland of forest campers. The only building here is the Forest Rest House of Kilbury built by the British government in the mid-1850's. Its not a building but more of a cottage. Many prefer to stay in this two room rest house to distance themselves from the extreme wilds of Kilbury, but, the real fun is to camp. Camping is like a dream come true. In close vicinity to Nanital, but, with no congestion, no shops, no pollution and almost no humans. Here, say hello to almost all types of animals, meet the Himalayan Black Bear or the ferocious tiger. Dwindle yourself with the animals or melt down with the scenery or just sit, relax and watch the breathtaking view of the panchsheel (five mountains) or the majestic Nanda Devi Parbat.

The best idea here is to camp, but if and only if your strong heart allows you to play with the wild tiger or spend the nights with the leopard. Also, visit the Binsar reserved forest sanctuary to get closest to nature.

So, hold your heart and get yourself ready for the best in nature and wildlife.
